Census of White Storks has started in Serbia.

The Society for the Protection and Study of Birds in Serbia has announced the stork census: the first round of counting will take place from April 22 to May 31, and the second round will be from June 17 to July 15.

Everyone interested can participate in the census. To do this, you need to register by email at [email protected] or by phone at 021/30-44-925. Registration is also available on the website, along with instructions.

The White Stork is easy to spot and difficult to confuse with other species. After flying almost 12000 km, storks almost always return to the same nest, which they build and repair throughout the nesting season.

Counting White Storks is one of the oldest forms of bird observation in Europe. It is conducted every ten years, and now it will take place for the eighth time.
