Polina Koval: Garden Town

Kc Grad, Belgrade
Friday, July 12th
14:00 – 19:00

We invite you to the opening of the exhibition Garden Town by Polina Koval on Monday, July 8th, at 8 PM!

Garden Town presents an artistic investigation of Belgrade, capturing its vibrancy and vivid atmosphere.

Polina Koval's artistic exploration delves into the themes of relationships and loneliness, religion and home through painting and the creation of handcrafted objects. Having grown up in a strictly religious and patriarchal family, Polina Koval challenges notions of gender inequality and prohibitions in love through her art. Her work is inspired by female form, nature, and religious themes, depicting naked women in gardens, angels, magical creatures, and mystical flowers.

Movement is an essential theme in Polina’s work and she explores it through the lens of her own journey. She collects items during her travels, transforms them into art, and places them back on the streets. By doing this, Polina investigates how space transforms when it encounters an unexpected, foreign element.

The exhibition will be open daily for visits until July 20th, from 4 PM to 9 PM.
