Description

Tom will promote their seventh album "Torem" which saw the light of day in October last year. Fans of bands such as Heilung, Wardruna, Danheim, and SKÁLD should not miss this concert!

Nytt Land was formed in 2013 in the city of Kalachinsk (Omsk region), over 4500 kilometers away from Belgrade. The story began with the married couple, Natalia and Anatoly Pakhalenko. Known for their dark neopagan ambiance, they stand out with throat singing and playing on handmade traditional instruments such as kantele and talharpa, which is an additional lure to attend this unusual ceremony. The band states that they are inspired by the sounds of the Siberian landscape, using recorded sounds of ravens and other forest noises. It is no wonder that some describe their music as a "hallucinatory walk through the tundra". Textually, they are tied to Nordic mythology, particularly to the collection of 38 poems called the 'Elder (Poetic) Edda' in Old Norse (North Germanic language spoken by inhabitants of the Scandinavian Peninsula and their neighbors during the Viking Age, until around 1300). Their latest album "Torem" is sung in Khanty (region in western Siberia along the Ob River) and Old Icelandic. The name itself means "Great Sky" and holds great significance for the spirituality of the people from those regions. We are in for a very interesting experience on September 24 at Zappa Barci; it would be a shame to miss it. In addition, organized by Hengtajm, the same band will perform the following day at Močvara in Zagreb.
