Exhibition "(E)Motion Flow"
Description
The exhibition will last until 23.6.2024.
The term "motion flow" explores the perception and processing of movement in the visual field of living beings. In personal perception, it refers to continuous movement and progression, to graceful or uninterrupted transition from one state to another, and to the exploration of fluidity and rhythm in motion, as seen in Bharatanatyam dance (traditional Indian dance). The name of the dance consists of the words bha (bhavam) - feeling or emotion, ra (ragam) - melody, and Tam (talam) - rhythm.
Music and dance are an essential part of my creative process. Inspired by Bharatanatyam, in 2019 I decided to explore new ways of using my own body in the painting process. Two decades of experience in public creation prompted me to question the idea of freedom and explore ways to step out of the comfort zone. In this work, the focus shifts from the traditional perception of painting as manual work to using the energy flow of the whole body, opening up a new space of synergy between visual and auditory.
The field of work remains intimate, although it offers the possibility of a new space for expressing emotions in a new and freer way.
(E)motion Flow is a fusion of music, rhythm, and personal need for experimentation within the visual expression, as well as an invitation to rethink the terms and relations of the individual and the collective.
