Exhibition 'The Arrangement(s)' by Marine Marković

With pleasure we invite you to the opening of the exhibition: 'The Arrangement(s)' by artist Marine Marković on Friday, June 28th at 7 pm, at the Salon of the Museum of Contemporary Art.

This exhibition in a way represents the final part of a series of performances focused on questions of power relations in the art world, within the art market, institutional policies, but above all, power in relation to the female body.
Marina speaks the language of corporeality, her practice is based on stripping away the structures that keep the subject in the illusion of being tied to a certain socially expected model of behavior, and through various media (video, installation, performance), and different forms of subordination and domination in relation to the female body, the author reexamines the delicate boundary between free will and biopolitical coercion in a woman's life, the boundary between personal choices and societal pressures, the demands of the art market, the use of institutions and individuals.
The permeability of these boundaries, and the dual nature of power that is constantly surrendered and taken over, is further confirmed by the act of tattooing, that symbolic act of penetrating exoreality into endoreality, which occurs according to predetermined and agreed rules, sometimes between the author and various institutions, and this time between the author and art theorists who 'read,' 'interpret,' 'define' her work and parts of whose texts Marina will tattoo during the performance as a meta-theoretical text. The authors of these texts are Ješa Denegri, Matthieu Lelievre, Lucrezia Nardi, Daniele Capra, ORLAN.
