The museum is pleased to announce the guest exhibition Sword by author Alexander Stankovic, a teacher, historian, and theoretician of classical, sports, and stage fencing, which will be open to all enthusiasts and supporters of this most elegant martial art on Tuesday, June 18 at 8 PM. The exhibition includes a rich collection of over 50 swords throughout the ages, from antiquity through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, to the modern era, and the displayed items, mostly replicas, are enriched with authentic pieces of yataghans and sabers from the Weapons and Warrior Equipment Collection of the Museum, representing the sword culture of Serbia and the Balkans.

During the exhibition, there will be organized expert tours, workshops, and interactive lectures on the subject of sword theory and the history of fencing in Serbia and Belgrade from the Middle Ages to the mid-20th century, and we especially announce a small Sword in Stone competition for our youngest visitors.

In addition to the welcoming speech by the director of the Ethnographic Museum, Marko Krstic, the exhibition will be opened by author Alexander Stankovic and curator of the Weapons and Warrior Equipment Collection of the Ethnographic Museum, Ivan Maximovic.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until October. The ticket price is 400 dinars.
