Description

The museum is pleased to announce the guest exhibition "Sword" by author Aleksandar Stanković, a teacher, historian, and theoretician of classical, sport, and stage swordsmanship. The exhibition, showcasing a rich collection of over 50 swords throughout the centuries, from antiquity through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance to the modern era, will be open to all enthusiasts and lovers of this most elegant martial art on Tuesday, June 18 at 8:00 PM.
The exhibition includes a rich collection of over 50 swords throughout the centuries, from antiquity through the Middle Ages and Renaissance to the modern era. The exhibited items, mostly replicas, are enriched with authentic pieces of yataghans and sabers from the Museum's Weapons and Warrior Equipment collection, representing the sword culture of Serbia and the Balkans.

During the exhibition, there will be guided tours, workshops, and interactive lectures on the theory of the sword and the history of swordsmanship in Serbia and Belgrade from the Middle Ages to the mid-20th century. We especially announce a small prize competition Stone Sword for our youngest visitors.

With welcoming remarks from the Director of the Ethnographic Museum Marko Krstić, the exhibition will be opened by author Aleksandar Stanković and the curator of the Weapons and Warrior Equipment collection of the Ethnographic Museum, Ivan Maksimović.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until October. The ticket price is 400 dinars.
