Basomania Festival 2024

The Basomania Festival will be held in Belgrade, from December 11 to 15, 2024, at the Faculty of Music and the Christian Adventist Church. Initiated by the idea of Professor Nebojša Ignjatović and Slobodan Gerić, with the aim of popularizing art music and playing the double bass, this festival has so far hosted the best double bassists of today such as Alberto Bocini (Geneva Conservatory), Jozef Niderhamer (Vienna Music High School), and Roman Patkol (Zurich). This year's guest professor is Todor Marković, a prominent double bassist from Slovenia, who will hold a masterclass for students and pupils of double bass from the country and the region. Besides the masterclass, Todor Marković will also give a solo concert on December 13 at 20.00, in the Grand Hall of the Faculty of Music (50 Kralja Milana Street). Dušan Egerić will accompany on the piano, performing works by Vanhal, Sbiden, Botteghini, and Mešec. The central concert of the Basomania Festival, titled 'Three Premieres,' will be held on December 14 at the Christian Adventist Church (4 Radoslava Grujića Street). Under the direction of conductor Srboljub Dinić, the St. George String Orchestra and soloists Slobodan Gerić (double bass) and Dušan Zdravković (double bass) will perform. The program will feature premieres by Serbian composers Tatjana Milošević, Ivan Jevtić, and Aleksandar Sedlar. The festival will conclude, on December 14 at 16.00, with a concert by pupils and students in the Grand Hall of the Faculty of Music. Free admission to all concerts.
