Today, Ennio Morricone and Nino Rota are rightly considered icons of world film music. The event dedicated to their work will present the most important stages of the careers of the two composers, from the cult songs of the sixties to the melodies written for the films of Sergio Leone and created for Hollywood. Performers: MARCELLO ROTA Graduated from the A. Vivaldi Conservatory in Alexandria with a class in French horn and from the Kijana Academy in Siena with a class in orchestral conducting. After debuting with the RAI Symphony Orchestra in Turin, Marcello has been working in prestigious concert halls across Europe since 1995. He has conducted well-known world orchestras. Marcello Rota has worked at La Scala for several seasons. Since 2004, he has been the principal guest conductor of the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Among the famous soloists he has accompanied are Rostropovich, Geringas, Rampal, Kiri Te Kanawa, and many others. A special place in the artist's biography is occupied by his participation in the concert of Andrea Bocelli and the Toscanini Symphony Orchestra from Parma in Bologna, which was attended by Pope John Paul II. The great operatic repertoire of the famous conductor includes music by Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti – more than forty works in total. The maestro's work has received deserved success from the public and critics. SUZANA RIGAĆI The Swedish singer of Italian descent received her musical education at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence. She gained worldwide fame thanks to her vocal accompaniment to Morricone's music in Sergio Leone's films "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", "Once Upon a Time in the West", "A Fistful of Dynamite". Rigaći has participated in numerous live concerts around the world. The opera diva sings in six languages and works in prestigious opera houses and concert venues. The singer collaborates with prestigious orchestras worldwide. In 2011, Rigaći participated in the Sanremo festival. In the summer of the same year, she held a solo concert in Santo Sinema. The program features musical hits from world-famous films. Since 2001, Suzana has been a guest star at concerts and recordings of Ennio Morricone's music, and since 2020, she has been a special guest at the Music Oscar awards. LUDOVICO FULCI Graduated in piano from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory and the Licinio Refice Conservatory in Frosinone. In 1987, he began his career in film music. First as a pianist and keyboardist, and then as an arranger. He works with great Italian composers in creating film soundtracks. Fulci has experience with over 100 films for which he has arranged and reduced melodies. Since 2000, he has collaborated with Ennio Morricone, actively participating in the creation of all the composer's soundtracks. In addition, he participates in the concert activities of the unsurpassed master. Ludovico combines his "classical" activity with a career as a jazz musician, playing in world-renowned bands. NELO SALZA Studied trumpet at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. He began his career in the orchestra of the San Carlo Theater in Naples, then worked at the Rome Opera. Today he is the principal trumpeter of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, the Regional Orchestra of Tuscany, and the National Symphony Orchestra of RAI. He teaches at the Conservatory in Naples. In 2021, at the Sanremo festival, Salza performed pieces dedicated to the memory of Ennio Morricone, with whom he has collaborated since 1984. Together they recorded 250 soundtracks. In 1997, in tandem with Nicola Piovani, he recorded the music for the film "Life is Beautiful" and won an Oscar for it. Nelo participated in the recording of Morricone's song "Lincoln's Letter" for Quentin Tarantino's film "The Hateful Eight". The song won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Original Score. Under the impeccable leadership of Maestro Morricone, they have held over 500 concerts worldwide.
