The concert is part of the 19th Early Music Festival (founded in 1991) and its title is 'Light O'Love - Music of the Middle Ages and Renaissance'.
About the event: The VisAntiqua Ensemble, known for its outstanding interpretations of music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and early Baroque periods, invites you on an unforgettable journey through Renaissance and Medieval Europe. This concert will offer a rich repertoire, including works inspired by Shakespeare's plays, and music from the court of Queen Elizabeth I, allowing you to experience the sounds that once filled the royal palace halls and theaters of Renaissance England.
With a carefully curated program that includes works preserved in monastery codices as well as secular music of the time, such as 'Light O'Love', 'Come Again', and 'Fine Knacks for Ladies', the concert will provide a unique opportunity to experience the sounds of past centuries in authentic performances on historical instruments and vocals characteristic of that era. The experience will be complete thanks to the costumes from the Middle Ages and Renaissance in which the ensemble members perform, creating a sense of time travel. Join this extraordinary musical journey and allow yourself to be charmed by the sounds of love and light from the past.
The VisAntiqua Ensemble is known for their performances in prestigious halls of Belgrade, such as the SANU Gallery, SKC, ARTGET Gallery, and the Ethnographic Museum, as well as their participation in festivals in Serbia and abroad. Their commitment to reviving early music in a historically accurate manner has earned them recognition among both music enthusiasts and early music specialists. The artistic direction of the VisAntiqua ensemble is entrusted to Elena Teofilovich (recorder, flute, horn), an outstanding musician whose long-term vision leads this ensemble to remarkable performances.
Don't miss the opportunity to be part of this musical adventure that will transport you through centuries of musical history and culture. You can expect an evening filled with authentic sounds, unforgettable melodies, and an atmosphere that evokes the spirit of times gone by.
