Exhibition of Small Graphics First 75

Graphic Collective

❗On Monday, December 23rd at 7 pm, the Exhibition of Small Graphics First 75 will open at the Graphic Collective Gallery, where the award Little Seal will be presented for the best achievement in the field of small format graphics. In the year of its anniversary, the 75th birthday, this Collective continues part of the program under the theme Tradition for the Future. The founders of the Graphic Collective, back in the 1950s, used to hold sales exhibitions of graphics during the New Year holidays, thus alleviating the dominance of stereotypical kitsch versions of greeting cards and ashtrays on the market. The idea of the artists gathered around the Graphic Collective (and their continuity) that original works of art should enter every home and animate, delight, educate, and cultivate a new audience as a suitable gift, follows the eighth decade with new editions of exhibitions of Small Graphics. Over time, this intimate exhibition has become, alongside the May exhibition, a significant point for the presentation of the realistic scope of contemporary graphic production and an opportunity for its critical review. The title of the exhibition text: 'For your home and those you love (and) in the new millennium. Because graphics are both a school of art/life and a fluid space of spirit sheltered from the bustle of busy times.', touches upon the identity and conceptual idea of this work.

The atmosphere of the new edition of the Small Graphics exhibition also reflects a great concentration of manuscripts of different poetic backgrounds; alongside the bards of our contemporary scene (born in 1949) who maintain the tension of the exhibition, new authorial phenomena of the youth (born in the new millennium) certainly rejuvenate its creative vitality. The catalog also includes sentences from the youngest participants, with one of the records stating: 'an artist's (small) world is much larger than those edges of paper', bearing witness to the creative essence of the idea.
