Exhibition 'The Arrangement(s)' by Marine Marković

We are pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition: 'The Arrangement(s)' by artist Marine Marković on Friday, June 28 at 7:00 pm, at the Salon of the Museum of Contemporary Art.

This exhibition in a certain way represents the final part of a series of performances focused on questions of power relationships in the world of art, within the art market, institutional policies, but above all, power in relation to the female body.
Marina speaks the language of corporeality, her practice is based on stripping down the structures that keep the subject in the illusion of adherence to a specific socially expected model of behavior, and through various media (video, installation, performance), and various forms of subordination and domination in relation to the female body, the author reexamines the delicate line between free will and biopolitical coercion in a woman's life, the boundary between personal choices and societal pressure, the demands of the art market, the use of institutions and individuals.
The permeability of these boundaries, and the dual nature of power that constantly submits and takes over, are further confirmed by the act of tattooing, that symbolic act of penetrating exoreality into endoreality, which happens according to pre-established and agreed rules, sometimes between the author and different institutions, and this time between the author and art theorists who 'read,' 'interpret,' 'define' her work and parts of their texts, as a meta-theoretical text, Marina will tattoo during the performance. Authors of these texts are Ješa Denegri, Matthieu Lelievre, Lucrezia Nardi, Daniele Capra, ORLAN.
