Awakened Performance

The first 'Timeless' festival brings the 'Awakened' performance, a bold discussion about the challenges of aging and stereotypes faced by women over 65 years old. The innovation and uniqueness of this project and performance are reflected both in starting the first artistically engaged theater process specially designed for older people, and in the artistic methodological approach to the themes of old age and aging. It is a kind of Community Theater form for older people, with a focus on women who have voluntarily applied to be part of this process through a public call. Directed by: Branka Bajic Jovanov The 'Timeless' festival is the first artistically engaged festival in Serbia dedicated to researching and addressing the problem of ageism, primarily directed towards older individuals. Through an interdisciplinary approach, including performances, panels, and a music program, 'Timeless' invites open dialogue and sheds light on deeply rooted prejudices towards older people in society. The festival is organized by the Foundation 'Novi Sad - European Capital of Culture' in cooperation with the Association Artichoke and the Red Cross of Serbia.
