MY Father VUK Karadžić

The Museum of Vuk and Dositej

The monodrama 'My Father VUK Karadžić' was realized in 2017 in cooperation with the National Museum of Serbia, the KulTurNet Association, and has been successfully performed for seven seasons. It is a sentimental life confession of Vuk's daughter Mina Karadžić, interpreted by actress Ljiljana Jakšić in her recognizable style, conveying interesting details from the private life, family difficulties, and stories about the most significant events and personalities that surrounded Vuk Karadžić and shaped his life and creativity. The play is enriched by displaying documentary material, reproductions, family photographs, and the tunes of musical numbers, thus evoking the era being narrated. Modern audio-visual effects bring to life the authentic space of the Great School building where Dositej Obradović and Vuk Stefanović Karadžić walked.
