Description

The Festival Basomanija will be held in Belgrade, from December 11th to 15th, 2024, at the Faculty of Music and the Adventist Christian Church. Born from the idea of professors of double bass Nebojša Ignjatović and Slobodan Gerić, with the aim of popularizing classical music and playing the double bass, this festival has so far hosted the best double bass players of today such as Albert Bocini (Geneva Conservatory of Music), Joseph Niedhammer (University of Music in Vienna), and Roman Patkolo (Zurich). This year's visiting professor is Todor Marković, a prominent double bass player from Slovenia, who will hold a masterclass for students and double bass students from the country and the region. In addition to the masterclass, Todor Marković will also hold a solo concert on December 13th at 8:00 pm in the Grand Hall of the Faculty of Music (50 King Milan Street). Dušan Egerić will be on the piano, performing works by Vanhal, Schubert, Bottesini, and Mišek. The central concert of the Basomanija festival, titled "Three Premieres," will be held on December 14th at the Adventist Christian Church (4 Radoslava Grujića Street). Conducted by Srboljub Dinić, the St. George String Orchestra and soloists Slobodan Gerić (double bass) and Dušan Zdravković (double bass) will perform. The program will feature premieres by Serbian composers Tatjana Milošević, Ivan Jevtić, and Aleksandar Sedlar. The closing of the festival on December 14th at 4:00 pm will feature a concert by students in the Grand Hall of the Faculty of Music. Admission to all concerts is free.
