Festival of Folklore of Serbs from the Region

The Festival of Folklore of Serbs from the Region is a representative event that preserves and nurtures the intangible cultural heritage of Serbs from the region. The festival is of a review character and gathers a large number of cultural-artistic societies from Serbia, made up of Serbs originating from the region, who, through dance and song, evoke memories and maintain a lifeline with their homeland. The festival has a regional character and in addition to cultural-artistic societies from Serbia, there are also those from Croatia, Republika Srpska, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as societies from countries in the region working on the preservation of Serbian cultural heritage in the region. Throughout Serbia, especially in Vojvodina, a large number of cultural-artistic societies and singing groups actively work to preserve the gems of Serbian originality. This Festival is of exceptional importance for the preservation of Serbian cultural heritage, both for Serbs from the region and those in Serbia. The event has significant importance for the social community as it encourages the preservation and transmission of knowledge about the elements of the intangible cultural heritage of Serbs and demonstrates the unity and indivisibility of the Serbian people.
