Candlelit Concert

A candlelit concert is not just a musical event; it is a special atmosphere that allows the music to be perceived anew. On June 26, Alexander Yakovlev will perform a program in a unique format, where every chord will sound in the glow of soft candles, creating an unforgettable, intimate atmosphere. In such surroundings the music becomes alive and penetrates to the very core. Through the flicker of the candles the audience will experience the music differently — in its deepest and most emotional expression.

About the performer

Alexander Yakovlev is an outstanding pianist, one of the leading representatives of the Russian piano school. He is the laureate of more than 50 international competitions, including in Berlin, Geneva, Rome and Japan. Among his achievements are the first prize and the gold medal awarded by the President of Italy at the Ettore Pozzoli competition.

Education

• Graduated from the Rostov Conservatory
• Continued his studies at the Mozarteum (Salzburg) and at the Berlin University of the Arts

Concert activity

• Alexander Yakovlev frequently performs worldwide, appearing on such legendary stages as Carnegie Hall (New York), Victoria Hall (Geneva) and the Berlin Philharmonic
• He has collaborated with leading orchestras and conductors, such as the Berlin and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestras, as well as Кент Нагано and Александр Поляничко

Repertoire and activities

• His repertoire includes more than 27 piano concertos with orchestra and 20 solo programs
• Alexander Yakovlev also regularly gives masterclasses and serves as the artistic director of international festivals.
