Buy tickets or sign up
Description
This time we’re starting to get acquainted with Hungarian wines — and we’ll begin with one of the country’s most famous red wine regions — Villány.
Villány is Hungary’s warmest wine region, often called the Hungarian answer to Bordeaux.
At the tasting we’ll try wines from one of Hungary’s most well-known wineries — Gere Winery.
We'll talk about:
- why Villány is considered one of Central Europe's main red wine regions
- how Hungarian Cabernet Franc differs from the French
- what single-vineyard wines are
- how great Bordeaux-style blended wines are made
- why some wines can age for 10–15 years
And, of course, we’ll taste a lot 🍷
This time you can expect:
- a white wine from the region
- the indigenous Kékfrankos
- the rare Hungarian variety Fekete Járdovány
- Cabernet Sauvignon
- Villányi Franc Ördögárok
- and the winery’s flagship wine — Kopar Cuvée
We’ll taste 6 wines in total.
This tasting is for those who want to get to know Hungarian wines more deeply and understand why Villány is being talked about across the wine world today.
