Description
Announcement. Tasting "Orange and Flor-aged wines. Winery Volos"
We've got something new again! This time — a Sauvignon that knows how to surprise: amber after maceration, apple- or nut‑like after aging under flor. And more.
On October 30 we'll meet at Shandy Bar to taste Volos wines and meet their creator.
Organic, biodynamics, spontaneous fermentation, long maceration… What does all that mean and how does it change the taste of wine — I'll explain in plain terms. We'll taste together.
What will we taste?
- Sauvignon Blanc 2024 — orange; spontaneous fermentation and 28 days of maceration.
- Sauvignon Blanc 2022 under flor, with apple notes — aged in a barrel under a yeast film, like some sherries and the yellow wines of France's Jura. No one else in Serbia does this!
- Sauvignon Blanc 2022 under flor, with nutty notes — we'll compare two wines of the same vintage and variety and spot the difference.
- Riesling 2021 — maceration, an old barrel and time that added character to the wine.
- A surprise wine from the winemaker — a new release he will bring for our tasting.
- And, of course, the now-legendary Volos Nature rakija to finish.
- With the wines — a Serbian roast: pieces of spit-roasted suckling pig. Served with horseradish!
The winemaker himself will be with us all evening: you can ask him about the wines, choose your favorites and buy them on-site at winery prices.
