Who does a photograph belong to after you press the shutter? Who are the guardians of the archive and why has keeping a physical photo album become even more important in the modern world?

We will explore all this at the third meeting of the photography discussion club — a space for everyone who wants not only to take pictures but also to reflect on photography. We will continue to challenge the photographer's ego and talk about what happens to a photograph after it has been made.

At the end of the meeting we will watch the documentary film The Stringer: The Man Who Took the Photo (2025) — the story of how, even nearly 50 years after the publication of a famous photograph, its authorship can change.

🗣 Host: Юра Орлов — cinematographer and documentary film director, graduate of СПбГМТУ, Университета Внутренней Монголии, Московской школы новой литературы, the Magnum Photos (Inside-Out) program, as well as courses at University of London and SOAS.
