Young pianist Petar Toškov

A student at the Faculty of Music Art in Belgrade, will perform, among others, preludes and fugues by J. S. Bach, as well as the famous Moonlight Sonata by L. van Beethoven.

Biography

Petar Toškov (Belgrade, 2001) started learning piano with Radojka Ivanović, continued with his father, pianist Aleksandar Toškov. He graduated from the Kosta Manojlović Music School in Zemun with professor Mile Lacković, and high school with Dina Hadžiomerović with the highest grade, awarded for the best graduation exam. He improved at master classes by professors such as Jokut Mihailović, Ruben Delibaltajan, John Perry, Igor Lasco, Alexander Sincuk, and others. In 2020, he graduated from the Phil and Eli Taylor Conservatory in Toronto, under the guidance of Li Wang with the highest grade. He began his studies at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade with professor Maja Rajković, and currently attends master studies with professor Aleksandar Serdar.

Petar Toškov has won numerous awards including:

• First prizes at the International Pianist Competition Banja Luka Biennial (2014)
• International Competition Davorin Jenko (2015)
• Nikolai Rubinstein Competition in Paris (2018)
• International Competition Petar Konjović in Belgrade (2018)
• Republican Competition (in the category of vocal-instrumental ensembles)
• First prize and laureate at Sirmium Music Fest competition in Sremska Mitrovica (2018)

Petar Toškov has performed in many important venues in Belgrade (Kolarac, Belgrade Philharmonic, SKC, Artget, Belgrade City Assembly, Russian House, Italian Cultural Center). He has held solo concerts in Belgrade and Bergen, and has performed several times in Toronto.
