LEGO Robot that Counts (for ages 5-12)
Date
10 May
Time
13:15 - 14:15
At this workshop, children build robots using LEGO bricks and sensors that allow them to detect and count objects in their environment. Through programming on tablets, they learn how to use variables so the robot 'remembers' each counted item and carries out the task precisely.
Inspired by the observance of May as Mathematics Month, this workshop shows that mathematics is not just a string of numbers on paper but a universal language used by both people and machines. Through play and experimentation, participants will see how basic mathematical concepts are turned into concrete robot actions.
Through hands-on work, participants develop logical thinking, precision, and an understanding of how simple ideas—like counting—are transformed into complex technological processes.
The workshop will take place in the Atom hall and is intended for up to 20 participants.
