In Lars von Trier's films, classical music is not just a beautiful background. It plays its own role, evokes mixed feelings in us, and even helps us better understand the plot!

My name is Anya — I play the piano, teach, and perform in concerts.

At this meeting we'll dive into the musical world of his famous "Depression Trilogy" — Antichrist, Melancholia, and Nymphomaniac.

🎹 I will play some pieces live, we'll watch film excerpts, and talk about how music works in cinema and why these particular melodies affect us so strongly.

This will be a lecture-and-discussion where we'll explore our sensations and emotions — and blame the music for them!
