Mravinjak - Vesna Janković

"Mravinjak" is a timeless drama by Vesna Janković, whose beauty and complexity lies in the unspoken, reflecting the relationships of a modern bourgeois family. By intertwining themes of immature love and the futility of sacrifice, it emphasizes the power of honesty against the acquired habit of covering up characteristic of souls impoverished by war. Peeking into the Jovanović family's apartment, the audience is invited to intrusive voyeurism that leads to their own introspection journey. Directed by Vanja Vodeničarević, the play "Mravinjak" talks about overcoming steps towards maturity that are reflected in self-acceptance and forgiveness. Ignited by the strength of sisterly love, Olja and Ana realize that dirty laundry must be taken out to be cleaned.
