Stop-Motion Animation (ages 9–14)

Saturday, October 31, 12:00–14:00 — Stop-Motion Animation (ages 9–14), Hobbit House

Join the "Animation Lab" video creation and animation course at Hobbit House!

For children ages 9–14

Participants will learn to think like creators and produce their own video projects — from the first idea to a finished clip. This is an opportunity to develop creative thinking, find a personal visual style, and try yourself as a director, animator, and video maker.

The course consists of three modules:

Module 1. Basics: Story and Stop-Motion

We learn how to come up with stories, work with composition and movement, and create meaningful clips using LEGO, drawings, collages, and everyday objects. We add sound and voiceover, and explore how to hold the viewer's attention.

Module 2. Experiments: Creativity and Special Effects

We explore different animation techniques, combine drawing with live-action video, and master editing and special effects. We learn to find unconventional solutions and turn ideas into vivid, expressive videos on various topics.

Module 3. PRO Level: Working to a brief from a "client"

We try ourselves as professionals: working according to a technical brief, developing the concept, and creating a finished authorial clip. We learn to evaluate the result, work within constraints, and present our work.

What do you get in the end? Experience creating your own projects, the ability to work with ideas, and an understanding of how to make a video interesting, expressive, and cohesive. A cool original piece for your portfolio, created according to industry standards.
