From Line to Print
Description
Workshop for children From Line to Print
Date and location
Saturday, August 15, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
National Museum of Serbia
Workshop description
In the From Line to Print workshop we will use reproductions of works by Wassily Kandinsky, Jozef Peeters and Louis Lozowick from the famous collection of Ljubomir Micić. We will go through the complete craft process of relief printmaking – linocut. By reflecting on different approaches of prominent avant-garde artists, participants will explore how a line becomes a matrix, and how a matrix becomes a printed image. We will discover what a matrix is and why printmaking is an art of multiple originals.
Workshop schedule
During the workshop we will cover the basic principles of planning a composition, transferring the drawing to linoleum, carving, inking and hand-printing. Through practical work, each participant will make their own linocut, discovering how craft precision, experimentation and artistic expression intertwine in one of the oldest printmaking techniques.
Target group
The From Line to Print workshop is intended for children aged 10 to 14.
Registration
Participant registration is mandatory by email to [email protected] and is valid only upon receiving a reply, i.e., a confirmation of recorded registration.
