Biologist Viktor Slavgorodsky invites adults and young birdwatchers to join a birdwatching walk through the Ulcinj Salt Pans.

Fall is migration season, so this is a particularly interesting time to watch birds here. Among the birds you can see are:

• flamingos
• Dalmatian pelicans
• herons
• cormorants
• grebes
• golden plovers
• lapwings
• hoopoes
• black-winged stilts
• black storks

In the summer, about 300–400 flamingos inhabit Solana, and in the fall, they are joined by birds from other areas. In some years, up to 2,500 flamingos have been counted here.

During the walk, Victor will talk about the animals we encounter and the importance of the Ulcinj Salt Pans for nature conservation.

The walk will last several hours and involves a long hike. You’ll need comfortable shoes, water, and a hat. If you have binoculars, bring them along.

It’s recommended to bring children if they’re willing to walk a lot and for a long time.

Each participant must present a valid ID: visitors are registered upon entering the park.

The annual pass for Montenegro’s national parks is not valid here. Transportation is not included.
