It's important to teach children how to read books. But do we also teach them how to read images?
Movies, photographs, and screens have become part of their daily lives, shaping the way they understand the world.
At the Belgrade Film Club, children discover the language of film and the messages it sends us, learning to not just be passive viewers but visually literate spectators.
WHAT IS FILM LANGUAGE?
It is the way in which a film communicates through:

• framing and composition
• light and color
• editing
• acting and movement
• sound and music
  When we learn to read these elements, the film begins to speak much more than what we see at first glance.
  In our club, every Saturday we analyze scenes, frames, and how directors create emotion and meaning. Children get the opportunity to immerse themselves in new worlds, understand characters' emotions, learn to put themselves in others' shoes, all while developing creativity, empathy, and critical thinking.
  Join us on our adventure of reading film images because SOMETIMES FILM IS THE BEST WAY TO TELL WHAT WORDS CANNOT.
  The workshops are intended for children aged 9-12, led by Vesna Dinić Miljković, a filmologist with extensive experience working with children.
