"Chamber Traveling Theater" presents the solo performance by Srđan Simić "Moscow – Petushki, 14 Stops" based on the prose poem "Moscow – Petushki" by Venedikt Erofeev.
ABOUT THE WORK
Venedikt Vasilyevich Erofeev (1938-1990) – a finely sensitive writer with a deep understanding of language. He considered N. Gogol, F. Kafka, V. Nabokov, and V. Rozanov as close to him, and the Bible as the book from which he "extracted everything that can be extracted by the human soul." The prose poem "Moscow – Petushki" became a cult work of Soviet "underground" literature. It tells the story of how the intellectual-marginal Venička Erofeev, in deep hangover, takes a train from Moscow to the city of Petushki to see his beloved woman and child.
ABOUT THE PLAY
The solo performance by Srđan Simić "Moscow – Petushki, 14 Stops" presents a monologue-confession of the main character, in which the story of a bitter and wayward life is at the same time a poem about the soul of a person yearning for a place where it feels good... The mention of 14 stops in the title of the play is not accidental; it is a direct association with the Stations of the Cross of Jesus Christ, which passes along Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem and then through the area of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

- Relatives of Venedikt Erofeev have repeatedly attended the performances and highly appreciated the production.
- For over 20 years, the play has been in the repertoire of the "Chamber Traveling Theater" and has been presented to audiences in various cities of Serbia, Montenegro, and Russia.
- In 2009, Srđan Simić with the play "Moscow – Petushki, 14 Stops" was invited to the International Theater Forum "Golden Knight."
- From an article by Igor Burić in the newspaper "Dnevnik" (Novi Sad, 2008): "Simić's credible performance in minimalist decorations, consisting of a bench and a train platform, is characterized by expressive physical play."
ABOUT THE THEATER
"Chamber Traveling Theater" was founded by Srđan Simić in Sremski Karlovci in 2001. The theater's performances have taken place in Serbia, Montenegro, Israel, and Russia. The theater is now "settled" in Novi Sad.
