Description
We're heading out for a trek to an amazing place — the Zamna River canyon.
Zamna — a small river in eastern Serbia, a tributary of the Danube, but it's known for something else entirely. Winding sinuously through the Djerdap Mountains, it forms a picturesque valley with beautiful rock formations. The most interesting part is the section of the canyon where the river has cut its way through the mountain rock. We'll walk along the canyon floor, at times resembling a cave, with massive "windows" and interesting bends. There will be plenty of spots for photos; the canyon stays cool in any weather. We'll walk along the riverbed and also climb up to the top.
- Trek: about 10 km, the ascent and descent are small, but there's plenty of variety 🙂
- Footwear: water shoes (reef shoes) or Crocs.
