UrbanFest 2027
Description
Cities are more interesting when you have someone to talk to
How does street art change a neighbourhood, a transport map help us understand a city, or a public space become a meeting place? UrbanFest 2027 is a free festival in Belgrade for anyone curious about cities and the people who live in them.
Join us on 9 January at Prostor Miljenko Dereta for talks, questions, discussions and hands-on workshops. Bring your professional experience, an idea for your city or simply your curiosity — no specialist knowledge is needed.
Topics and programme
In focus: street art, transport and mobility, climate and urban ecology, cultural heritage, architecture, public spaces, wayfinding and map design. We will compare experiences from different cities and explore which ideas could work in Belgrade.
Creative mapping of Belgrade, a clay-modelling workshop and a round table on volunteering are already confirmed. The detailed timetable and participation arrangements for individual workshops will be announced later.
People and connections
Conversations between talks are an essential part of UrbanFest. Residents, architects, researchers, artists and activists from different countries meet to exchange experience, find like-minded people and connect with potential collaborators. Previous gatherings included conversations about transport policy with Swedish colleagues; in 2027, we are continuing to build international connections.
