Stara Planina Waterfalls: A Mountain Fairytale

Escaping the city's stifling heat to where the air rings with silence.

Stara Planina is a wild and rugged land, but for us it will turn into a cascade of waterfalls, shady trails and evenings under the stars.

We'll stay in a guesthouse in the village of Topli Do, where time seems to have stopped.

• From here we'll set out along the Teplodol River to the 40-meter Chungul Waterfall.
• Along the way we'll see at least three more waterfalls; somewhere we'll have to wade across.
• The whole route round-trip is 12 km with an elevation gain of about 350 m.
• At the rest stop we'll have a picnic with tea and dried fruit.
• For the most energetic, we'll make an extra outing to the Krmol Waterfalls (about 2 km).
• Swimming is included.💦

In the evening we have dinner, watch the stars and breathe deeply.

On the second day there will be another short trek, new waterfalls and a leisurely descent through a picturesque gorge to Pirot with photo stops.

This is a light+ adventure for those who want to recharge without pushing themselves to the limit.
