Description
We invite you to meet a living legend of contemporary culture, 88-year-old writer Lyudmila Petrushevskaya, in Belgrade on September 6!
Lines of varying lengths, “Puski Byaty,” terrifying mystical tales, and magical fairy tales will blend with the cheerful and poignant songs of “Cabaret Pani Lucy”—featuring the legendary author in the lead role for an audience of just 70!
And that’s not all—for the first time in Belgrade and anywhere in the world—Lyudmila Petrushevskaya’s creative evening will take place within the space of her own exhibition: you’ll find yourself in the very heart of the gallery, surrounded by Lyudmila Petrushevskaya’s paintings.
The evening’s program includes:
- Readings of mystical stories, scary tales, magical fairy tales, and poignant poems performed by the author herself.
- Accompanied by virtuoso musicians, Lyudmila Stefanovna will sing famous cabaret hits in her own translations—some free, some literal, and, as the audience once put it, some risqué.
- The premiere of two new books by the author.
- A Q&A with the audience and an autograph session.
- An exhibition of Petrushevskaya’s new paintings.
Here, the familiar boundary between the stage and the audience will almost disappear: Petrushevskaya’s paintings on the walls, her voice and lyrics—right here and now—and she herself will be right alongside the audience. Not just a concert and not just a literary evening—an encounter with Lyudmila Petrushevskaya within the world she has created.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to spend an evening with Lyudmila Petrushevskaya: only 70 seats and an hour and a half of an almost intimate gathering with a living legend!
