Fleetwood Mac "Then Play On" (1969)

Fleetwood Mac, in their early English days, were known as one of the most significant bands emerging from the famous English blues scene, a breeding ground for talents that would shape world rock music in its "golden years." Much of the band was initially carried by the magical guitar artistry of founder Peter Green, serving as a prime example of the phenomenon of transforming local club attractions into global stars.

The pinnacle of this period is their third LP "Then Play On" – the most commercially successful and artistically diverse until then. After this, Green would leave, plagued by health issues, and Fleetwood Mac would move to America, change members, and ultimately become one of the most famous soft rock bands ever. But that is a completely different story.

Santana "Abraxas" (1970)

When Carlos Santana formed a group named after his surname, there were hardly any significant Latino rock performers. However, this would change after their performance at Woodstock, where their youthful enthusiasm brought the audience to their feet, transforming them overnight into a globally recognized name, which they remain to this day.

Their second album – "Abraxas" – not only features some of Santana's most famous hits but also defines the spirit of its time. Both sensual and spiritual at the same time, it reflected the aspirations of the hippie generation for self-discovery, forever remembered as a classic for all time.

The fact that this area is not covered by academic research in our environment provides more than enough reason to make an effort and, with the help of reputable local experts, map this area, valuing it in a way that encourages authentic local thinking about the aforementioned phenomena.

Our method of work will be dialogical, and through discussions among experts and then involvement of the audience, along with listening to music from the best rock and pop albums, we will arrive at conclusions that place certain capital artistic works from the field of popular music in their historical context.
