That same voice, those same songs—and a first visit to Montenegro

Zoya Yashchenko and the band “Belaya Gvardiya” will perform in Montenegro for the first time. And this is a particularly rare event: the band hasn’t taken the stage since 2022.

“Belaya Gvardiya” has been around for over 30 years. Zoya herself describes the band’s music as “sentimental rock”—where the music is inseparable from the lyrics, and complex ideas can be expressed in surprisingly simple words.

The concert will feature songs that have long been cherished by several generations of listeners:

• “St. Petersburg”
• “A Private’s Song”

And there will be brand-new music—songs from the album With a Green Thread, recorded by Zoya Yashchenko this summer together with guitarist and composer Dmitry Baolin.

Songs about cities and people, time and memory, war and love—and about a multitude of other things for which it’s sometimes easier to find a song than a name.
