Regular gym clothes mean pastels, neon and logos. But what if you wear black every day and want to train in it too? There's a whole niche for that: gothic and alternative activewear. Here are the brands we checked out - what they sell, what it costs and how shipping works.
Unwonted Apparel (UK)
Probably the most gym-focused brand on the list: it only makes gothic gym wear. Leggings with pockets and horror-inspired prints (death moths, Medusa, aliens), plain sets, shorts, crop tops, even lifting belts and yoga mats. The brand says all its leggings are squat-proof.
Prices: leggings around £48, with plenty often on sale. They ship worldwide, but Serbia isn't in the site's country list, so it's worth emailing them first.
Black Widow Yoga (USA)
A brand from Salem - yes, the witch trials Salem. Its tagline: "yoga classes & wear for metalheads". Pocket leggings with coffin and blood prints, sports bras, mats. They also run metal yoga classes, including online.
Prices: leggings around $54, sports bras around $47. Some orders ship from an EU warehouse, but the site says nothing about Serbia.
Studio Gallantry (UK)
A small metal-inspired gym and gig wear label, mostly menswear: oversized pump covers, tanks, shorts, skull-camo joggers. Everything is made to order, and European orders are produced in Latvia.
Rogue + Wolf (UK)
Vegan gothic clothing, footwear and jewellery, plus an Activewear section with more than twenty yoga leggings, including plus sizes, as well as sports bras, joggers and mats. Items are made on demand in several countries. Leggings around $42-45.
Goth Cloth Co.
The brand has a dedicated Goth Gym Drop collection: leggings, sports bras, yoga and biker shorts, joggers and gym bags. Leggings from $34 to $55.
Cosmic Drifters (UK and Germany)
For those who prefer witches, moons and stars over skulls. The brand started in Leeds and now works from Berlin and the UK. The activewear line has leggings, longline sports bras, crop tops and biker shorts. European orders are made in Latvia and ship within 10 days. Leggings around €69.
Bonus: shoes
Koi Footwear doesn't make gym shoes, but it has chunky boots and platforms for every day. It's also the only brand on this list that names Serbia in its shipping terms: about €33, 3 to 10 working days.
What to know about shipping
Serbia isn't in the EU, so a parcel from the UK or the US will most likely come with customs duty and VAT to pay. And since a lot of these pieces are made to order, expect to wait longer than for a regular parcel.
