We didn't stay on the sidelines of the Alta Banka situation either. Polako Finance applied to open business accounts for all of our clients, and the first results are already in.
What we have so far
25 applications are confirmed. Here is where they stand:
- UniCredit - 5 accounts opened.
- OTP Bank - 1 account opened, 1 application declined.
- Raiffeisen - 1 account opened.
- Intesa - 1 account opened.
That's 8 business accounts opened so far.
An account also means online payments
For us, opening an account is not just about the account itself. It also means we can connect the client to the bank's e-commerce service, that is, card payments on their website.
We already have agreements with these banks. So whichever of them a client opens an account with, we'll help set up online acquiring.
Same applications, different answers
One more interesting thing. We sent the same applications for the same clients to several banks at once: OTP, UniCredit, Raiffeisen, NLB and AIB.
The results are completely different. Approvals and open accounts went to different clients, and so far there isn't a single overlap between banks.
It looks like a rejection from one bank says little about what another will decide. That's why we apply in parallel instead of waiting for each bank in turn.
What's next
That's a short summary of where things stand. The work continues.
