Lecture «A Meteor Shower Without Stars: Comets and Meteors»

With the Perseids approaching, this lecture is for everyone who wants to get the most out of the experience: not only from the beautiful spectacle, but from a full understanding of the interesting physics behind the phenomenon.

In this lecture we'll talk about:

✨ Comets: where they come from, how they differ from asteroids, and why they can appear so unexpectedly

✨ Meteor streams: how they are connected to comets and how they reach Earth

✨ Physics of meteors: what exactly shines so brightly and why (spoiler: not exactly meteors)
