Description
This used to be a square, exhibition by Nevena Veselinović
Gallery Kula, Cetinjska 15
February 27 - March 16, 2025.
The first exhibition within the annual program of Gallery Kula, selected in the recent competition of Art Hub Kula, is the exhibition by Nevena Veselinović titled 'This used to be a square'.
Nevena Veselinović's works represent the space between cold architectural elements and personal dimensions, where concrete forms and abstract colors merge into a play that questions the boundaries of inner and outer realities. Through her works, brutalism serves as the foundation for the reinterpretation of the world in color, creating a bridge between everyday life and fantasy, between concrete dystopia and the search for freedom and unity. The exhibition This used to be a square invites understanding of transformation through dimension and illusion. By manipulating familiar geometric shapes, Nevena creates a three-dimensional reality where shapes, colors, and perspectives intertwine.
The exhibition is for sale, and in addition to the exhibited works, a selected number of the artist's prints will be available at the Art shop Kula.

Nevena Veselinović (1995) was born in Valjevo, lives and creates in Belgrade. She graduated in graphic design, but her artistic expression also includes painting, design, as well as creating objects and furniture. From an early age, she was fascinated with colors and shapes—from building LEGO bricks to drawing and experimenting with space. Color holds a special place in her expression and daily life, and her love for interiors, objects, and architecture has been with her since childhood, profoundly influencing her work, where design precision and pictorial intuitiveness create a new dimension of space, exploring illusion and form.
