Opening of the exhibition 'Golub Dobrashinović – Literary Historian, Curator, Researcher'

The Day of the Vuk and Dositej Museum this year will be solemnly marked on February 28 at 1 p.m. with the opening of the exhibition titled 'GOLUB DOBRASHINOVIĆ – LITERARY HISTORIAN, CURATOR, RESEARCHER (1925–2008)'. The exhibition is dedicated to marking the centenary of Golub Dobrashinović's birth, a prominent literary historian, researcher, and curator of the Vuk and Dositej Museum from 1954 to 1977.

Dr. Golub Dobrashinović created an extensive scientific opus during his career, which represents an invaluable source for present and future researchers of Serbian history and literature. As the curator of the Vuk and Dositej Museum, he significantly improved the preservation and presentation of museum materials, particularly researching and publishing details that provide new understanding of the life and work of Vuk Karadžić. Through his efforts, he enhanced the work of the Museum, laying the foundations for further research and promotion of museum materials.

In his work in the fields of literature, history, and art, he received several awards, among the most significant being Vuk's Award, bestowed in 1987, Vuk's Charter in 2003, and Dositej's Award in 2006. He passed away on October 3, 2008 in Belgrade.

The exhibition will feature works – publications, expert texts, and manuscripts of Golub Dobrashinović, as well as his personal items and photographs in the possession of the Todorović Dobrashinović family.

The exhibition will be open until May 31, 2025.
