The museum is pleased to announce the temporary exhibition "Sword" by author Alexander Stanković, a teacher, historian and theoretician of classical, sports and stage fencing. The exhibition will be open to all enthusiasts and admirers of this most elegant martial art on Tuesday, June 18th at 8:00 p.m. The exhibition includes a rich collection of over 50 swords through the centuries, from antiquity through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance to the modern era. The exhibited items, mostly replicas, are enriched with authentic pieces of yataghans and sabers from the Weapons and Warrior Equipment Collection of the Museum, representing the culture of swords in Serbia and the Balkans.

During the exhibition, guided tours, workshops, and interactive lectures on the theory of the sword and the history of fencing in Serbia and Belgrade from the Middle Ages to the mid-20th century will be organized. We especially announce a little prize competition Stone Sword for our youngest visitors.

With a welcoming speech from the director of the Ethnographic Museum, Marko Krstić, the exhibition will be opened by the author Alexander Stanković and the curator of the Weapons and Warrior Equipment Collection of the Ethnographic Museum, Ivan Maksimović.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until October. The ticket price is 400 dinars.
