Exhibition 'Positioning Program' by Đorđe Radović

Đorđe Radović's first solo exhibition 'Positioning Program' at the Gallery of the Belgrade Youth Center encompasses themes related to collective memory and the persistence of remembrance, but primarily dialogical forms of storytelling and positioning of the painterly fabric where his need to create works with an open end is considered.

Radović's manuscript rests on intergeneric intertwining and (in)directness of boundaries, while the title of the exhibition points to the significance of preserving found traces from the creative process that have an intensive mechanism and in which reality is widely shaped. The exhibition is dominated by a dioramic mode of communication which requires the viewer to delve into the circular contemplation of nature, thus we can say that the artist subtly approached the selection and arrangement of all elements in his artistic foundations, taking (un)familiar photographs as his own places of belonging and beginning for his work, in this case oil paintings and digital collages. The harmonious scenes that we can see in his works carefully and poetically animate the viewer, allowing them to independently imagine about enduring values and landscapes in the autonomy of all forms used from sincere internal laws. (...) Everything that the artist awakens here in anticipation in general visual perception and psychology is nothing but emphatic and sharp freedom, one that thoroughly examines...

Đorđe Radović (1999) is a visual artist from Belgrade. He completed his undergraduate and master's academic studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, and is currently pursuing doctoral art studies at the same faculty in the painting department. He develops his visual practice in the medium of paintings and spatial installations, exploring the relationship between time and space.

He is the recipient of the 'Rista and Beta Vukanović, painters' award for 2022/23, awarded by the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. He has exhibited in 26 group exhibitions in the country and abroad.

The exhibition 'Positioning Program' at the Gallery of the Belgrade Youth Center is his first solo exhibition.
