Sword through the Ages at the Ethnographic Museum
Description
The museum is pleased to announce the guest exhibition 'Sword' by author Aleksandar Stanković, a teacher, historian, and theorist of classical, sports, and stage fencing. The exhibition, containing a rich collection of over 50 swords through the ages from antiquity through the Middle Ages and Renaissance to the modern era, will be open to all enthusiasts of this most elegant martial art on Tuesday, June 18 at 8:00 PM. During the exhibition, there will be guided tours, workshops, and interactive lectures on the theory of swords and the history of fencing in Serbia and Belgrade from the Middle Ages to the mid-20th century, culminating in a small prize competition 'Sword in Stone' for our youngest visitors. With a welcome speech by the director of the Ethnographic Museum Marko Krstić, the exhibition will be opened by author Aleksandar Stanković and curator of the Weapons and Warriors Equipment Collection of the Ethnographic Museum Ivan Maksimović. The exhibition will be open to visitors until October. The ticket price is 400 dinars. Come to the Ethnographic Museum!
