Marilyn Monroe Retrospective

From May 29 to June 2, Jugoslovenska Kinoteka will host a Marilyn Monroe film retrospective — on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the most famous actresses in film history.🎬💋

In her short life Marilyn Monroe appeared in 30 films and became the leading sex symbol of her time. The program includes films from different periods of her career: from early bit parts to the roles that brought her worldwide fame.🎬⭐️

The cycle opens with three films from 1950–1952 in which Monroe, still in small roles, already attracted widespread attention: "The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer" by Edmund Goulding, "The Asphalt Jungle" by John Huston and "All About Eve" by Joseph L. Mankiewicz.

Also in the program: "The Seven Year Itch" and "Some Like It Hot" by Billy Wilder, "Monkey Business" by Howard Hawks, "River of No Return" by Otto Preminger, "Niagara" by Henry Hathaway and "The Misfits" by John Huston — Monroe's last film, shot from a screenplay by Arthur Miller, which also became the last for her co-star Clark Gable.
