Bereginje – Those Who Protect
The exhibition "Bereginje – Those Who Protect" is a joint artistic and research project of the Association of Art History Students "Rozeta" and students of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. The exhibition addresses contemporary readings and reinterpretations of ethnographic heritage, traditional ornamentation, and motifs from Slavic mythology. Starting from the idea of the Bereginje as protectors and guardians of the home, the artists explore the connection between the ancient and the contemporary through various visual media — from drawings and mixed techniques incorporating embroidery, through painting, and up to spatial installations.
