Joy of Europe 2024: How intelligence grows - Concerts "Encounters of Friendship"

The 55th International Meeting of European Children – Joy of Europe – will be held in Belgrade under the slogan "How intelligence grows" from October 2nd to 5th, 2024. The event is dedicated to the jubilee - 50 years since the first edition of Budimir Nešić's book "How intelligence grows". The Children's Cultural Center of Belgrade is the organizer, and a very attractive program has been prepared for the participants as always. The event editors, Lazar Dubovac and Tijana Savičin, emphasized that it is a program that nurtures traditional values, friendship, love, and family, with the goal of keeping the event the same as it was at its inception. Children from all over Europe come to one place to meet and live with the families of their peers in Belgrade. To achieve this, the support of Belgrade's primary schools was crucial, and that is why schools, families, and children are one of the pillars of the Joy of Europe event - said Savičin. The editor of the Art Contest "Joy of Europe", Lidija Seničar, emphasized that this contest surpasses the borders of Europe, and that all award-winning works will be exhibited at a joint exhibition during the event. This year, children from Belgrade's primary schools will host and socialize with young ambassadors from twelve countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Hungary, Germany, Poland, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Czech Republic, as well as children from distant Africa, Namibia. Children from Serbia will also present their skills and traditions. In addition to event participants, all interested children and the general public will be able to attend festival programs, such as: exhibition of the 26th International Art Contest, traditional carnival through the city center, gala concert at the MTS Hall, concert "Encounters of Friendship" in the "Donka Špiček" hall at the Children's Cultural Center, and an eco-sports day, supported by the City Utility Company "Zelenilo – Belgrade".
