Exhibition of Small Prints First 75

Graphic Collective

❗On Monday, December 23 at 7:00 PM, an exhibition of Small Prints First 75 will open at the Graphic Collective Gallery, where the Small Seal award for the best achievement in the field of small-format graphics will be presented. In the year of its jubilee, celebrating its 75th birthday, this Collective continues part of its program under the theme Tradition for the Future. The founders of the Graphic Collective, in the 1950s, used to organize sales exhibitions of graphics during the New Year holidays, thus alleviating the dominance of stereotypical kitsch versions of greetings cards and stove craftsmen in the market. The ideas of the artists gathered around the Graphic Collective (and their continuity) to introduce original works of art into every home and to animate, delight, educate, and cultivate a new audience as a suitable gift, have been followed by the eighth decade of new editions of exhibitions of Small Graphic Forms. Over time, this intimate exhibition has become, along with the May exhibition, a significant point for presenting the real achievements of contemporary graphic production and an opportunity for its critical evaluation. The title of the exhibition text: 'For your home and those you love (and) in the new millennium. Because graphics are both a school of art/life and a fluid space of the spirit shielded from the hustle and bustle of busy times,' touches upon the identity and conceptual idea of this work.

The atmosphere of the new edition of the Small Prints exhibition is also reflected in the high concentration of manuscripts of various poetic foundations; alongside the bards of our contemporary scene (born in 1949) who maintain the tension of the exhibition, new authorial phenomena of the young (born in the new millennium) certainly renew its creative vitality. The catalog also includes sayings from the youngest participants, with one of the records stating: 'the artist's (small) world is much larger than the edges of that paper,' bearing witness to the creative essence of the idea.
