Exhibition 'Confessions of Yugoslav Modernism'

Works on paper from the Collection of the Gallery of the House of the Serbian Army number around 1,500 pieces of fine and applied arts and can be divided into four parts: the Painting Collection, the Works on Paper Collection, the Sculpture Collection, and the Applied Arts Collection. Works on paper, after paintings, are the most numerous segment of the fund. The collection was formed based on artists' participation in curated exhibitions organized by the Gallery of the House of the Yugoslav People's Army, solo exhibitions, participation in art colonies, and military service. The works were created over a period of a century, so it can be said that the Collection covers almost the entire 20th century. Thematically diverse, from still lifes, portraits, exteriors, interiors without an ideological background, to highly engaged works on the theme of the People's Liberation Struggle and war.

The exhibition features over 40 pieces that make up works on paper using drawing, watercolor, pastel, gouache, tempera techniques, and works executed in a combined technique. Among the protagonists of the exhibition are the most significant artists of the 20th century in the Yugoslav space - Ljubomir Ljuba Ivanović, Sava Šumanović, Stojan Ćelić, Predrag Peđa Milosavljević, Mladen Srbinović, Milo Milunović, Gabrijel Stupica, Nikola Martinoski, Zlatko Prica, and others.
