Deep Cuts

Exhibition "Deep Cuts" by Katarina Jovicic and Olga Djelosevic

It will be opened on July 3rd at the Kula gallery, located at 15 Cetinjska Street.

Everyday objects and universal human experiences, inseparable like pain and joy, destruction and vulnerability, are at the core of interest of artists Olga Djelosevic and Katarina Jovicic. Motifs of thorns, chains, fire, or shattered glass are nothing more than a kind of allegory of the fragility of our existence, among other things defined by breakages, failures, and emotional roller coasters. A different approach and materials used by the artists, in digital prints and textile sculptures that make up this exhibition, give the viewer insight into what happens behind our facades - the cacophony of everything, perfect and imperfect - that shapes our experience.

Katarina Jovicic

• Born: 1994, Smederevo
• Education:
  • Graduated from the School of Design, in the interior design department
  • Bachelor's and Master's studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 2019, in the painting department
• Occupation: Lives in Belgrade, works as a graphic designer since 2019.
• Interests: Engages in painting, digital media, themes of contemporary human existence, and the aesthetics of everyday life.

Olga Djelosevic

• Born: 1994, Belgrade
• Education:
  • Attended the TechnoArt high school, in the calligraphy department
  • Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, in the painting department, 2017
• Occupation: Engaged in graphic design and illustration since 2016.
• Interests: Various themes and ideas waiting to see the light of day and become reality.

The exhibition "Deep Cuts" will be open from July 3 to July 20 at the Kula gallery, Cetinjska 15, Belgrade.
