World Flamenco Day at Dom omladine Beograda: EL SONIDO DE LA VIDA – SOUND OF LIFE

World Flamenco Day at Dom omladine Beograda: EL SONIDO DE LA VIDA – SOUND OF LIFE

Guitar Art Festival and Dom omladine Beograda, with the support of Ambasade Španije u Beogradu, mark World Flamenco Day on 16 November with the concert EL SONIDO DE LA VIDA – ZVUK ŽIVOTA, which will take place in the Amerikana DOB hall, starting at 8:00 PM.

Audiences can expect an encounter with the authentic expression of Spanish flamenco through music, dance and percussion. Karlos Sanćes, a prominent Spanish guitarist and composer, leads this programme conceived as an intimate musical journey inspired by his life and artistic experience. He is joined by Lusija Serano, flamenco dancer, choreographer and teacher, and Abel León on percussion. Their joint performance connects traditional flamenco elements with contemporary artistic expression, in a programme that intertwines guitar virtuosity, the expressiveness of dance and the rhythmic power of percussion.

El Sonido de la Vida (Sound of Life) is an authorial music-and-stage project by the well-known Spanish guitarist and composer Karlos Sanćes, inspired by personal experiences and the rich tradition of Spanish music. This concert represents an intimate musical journey through emotions, memories and life stories.

At the heart of the project is the flamenco guitar, whose expressive potential Sanćes explores through eight musical themes that have marked different stages of his artistic development. From gentle, meditative melodies to powerful and fiery rhythms, the music becomes a universal language through which the artist speaks of joy, challenges, love, perseverance and the continual search for personal expression.

A special dimension is added by flamenco dancer Lusija Serano, whose movement, expression and rhythmic precision create an exciting dialogue with the guitar. With the accompaniment of percussionist Abel León, music and dance merge into a dynamic stage whole where tradition and contemporary artistic sensibility meet.

The project draws on Sanćes's literary and recorded works, in which the artist openly discusses his personal and professional journey. After its presentation in Skopje in 2024, with the support of Ambasade Španije u Severnoj Makedoniji, Zvuk života continues to find its way to international audiences.

More than a concert, Zvuk života is an emotional journey into the very heart of flamenco — an art in which every tone, movement and rhythm becomes an expression of the deepest human feelings.
